Кафедрой международных комплексных проблем природопользования и экологии организуется лекция профессора IE Business school Lara Lazaro Touza. Тема лекции: «International Environmental Agreements and Climate Change: Addressing the challenges of the XXI century?».

Лекция состоится 16 марта в 16:00 в ауд. 215 (новый корпус).

SHORT DESCRIPTION: During this session we will analyse the basic features of international environmental agreements focusing on climate change. We will also review policy recommendations to strengthen future climate accords and we will reflect on how citizens, cities, regions and countries can make a difference in the quest for a bearable climate.

SHORT BIO: Lara Lazaro Touza holds a PhD and an MSc in Environmental Assessment and Evaluation from the London School of Economics (LSE). She also holds a BSc in Economics from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. Her career has developed both in the private sector and in academia. Dr. Lazaro Touza is the Academic Director of the Master in Environmental Management at IE University. She was recently appointed Chief Environmental Economist at Verde Economista, an environmental consultancy firm in Mexico. In addition to this Dr. Lazaro Touza is a Lecturer in Economic Theory at Colegio Universitario Cardenal Cisneros, on International Environmental Policy at IE University. In the past she has worked as a researcher at Elcano Royal Institute in Spain. Lara was appointed LSE Fellow and has taught at graduate and postgraduate levels at the London School of Economics, Universidad Complutense de Madrid, ICADE, Escuela de Administración de Empresas, and FNAC providing training for managers and employees on climate change.

Her research interests include environmental economics, environmental politics and policies with a special focus on stated preference techniques, sustainability criteria and environmental crises management. She has published various articles on valuation and management of oil spills, policies to manage global environmental resources, climate change and environmental impact assessment. She has presented her research at national and international conferences at the European Association of Environmental and Resource Economists at Tor Vergata in Rome, International Society for Ecological Economics in Oldenburg and Bremen in Germany, the Royal Geographical Society at Imperial College in London, Universidad de Santiago de Compostela, the UK Network of Environmental Economists Conference at the Royal Society in London, the 4th Atlantic Workshop on Energy and Environmental Economics organised by Universidad de Vigo and at the Environment Network Symposium organised by the Australian National University. Dr. Lazaro Touza has received various scholarships from the London School of Economics, the Australian National University and the US government’s International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) under the Fulbright Scholarship Act.
