A Five-Step Program for Fixing the Ukraine Crisis

A Five-Step Program for Fixing the Ukraine Crisis

Эксперты МГИМО: Харкевич Максим Владимирович, к.полит.н.

The events in Ukraine and Crimea’s recent accession to Russia have clearly highlighted the existing conflict in global politics between the West and Russia. The post-Cold War system of international relations is going through a serious crisis, with the current situation unable to be solved through compromise and constructive debate.

This new RD Monthly analyzes five key reasons for that conflict, suggesting that each of these systemic problems can and must be solved to bring the situation under control and make the system of international relations more stable.

The author of this RD Monthly is Maxim Kharkevich of Moscow State Institute of International Relations.
