One of the purposes of modern high school is to prepare qualified specialists with foreign languages knowledge and, in particular, the awareness of professional language peculiarities. Therefore, it has occurred ultimately essential to create a text book of professional literature translation for the newly created department of Ecological Sciences in the MGIMO University.
The article presents one of the ways translation work could be arranged in the language of the students’ profession on the example of a course book intended for students of Ecology Department of Moscow State Institute of International Relations.
With this purpose the article analyzes the applicability of the created and tested textbook for the 3rd year students of Ecology Department as well as the methodology on the basis of which it was made up.
The authors of the article explore the procedure of various professional methods of translation such as generalization, concretization, calque, semantic borrowings and others, the difficulties of teaching translation of the language and ways to overcome them.
The subject of the research is professional language competence and its development on the basis of the proposed material.
The purpose of the research is working out adequate methodology-based training translation activities as well as exercises to master translation skills of the students in the language of their profession, namely Ecological sciences.
The methods applied are the following: methods of studying and summarizing various theoretical data, comparative analysis, experiment and interpretation.
The authors come to the conclusion, that a balanced utilization of a variety of modern technologies on par with individually adjusted audio material and relevant assignments provide a better and deeper information perception
In teaching modern student foreign languages it has become essential to develop multifocal language competences, including the language of profession competences such as reading, translation and analysis of the material in the language.
